I have had cake pop molds in my house for ages. Can someone please explain to me how to use them? Do I bake the cake in them? Can I use Duncan Hines? All tips and recipes welcome 😋

My daughter just made them for the first time so I'm not expert. She used duncan Hines cake mix. She baked it in a regular pan. She scraped off the top and side and crumbled up the rest of the cake. She mixed the crumbled cake with icing (duncan hines) and then molded them into balls..she did not use cake pop molds. I saw her melt cake melts and use the icing to stick the sticks inside the balls...refrigerate..Afterwards we melted cake melts and decorating chocolate to dip the the balls into and decorated with sprinkles..and then left to harden.
