What’s the best way clean a stove top? It’s a stainless GE oven with a black top (not sure what material the top is).

Vinegar and baking soda! And wipe down!
If Steve top is warm it works even better!

I can't agree more. I can't believe that I used to scrub with expensive, abrasive cleansers.
This method is so much better.

I’m not sure what your stove top is. Mine is glass and I use Weiman heavy duty glass cook top cleaner and polish. It works great. I hardly have to work hard.

I know this is old thread. But I have the same question. So I know how to clean the stainless steel part. But what to do about the black grates? Dobie and Palmolive is far from enough

Thanks, that talks about the stainless steel part. I'm asking about the grates. I don't want to use anything that would ruin the finish, but I can't seem to get them clean with Dobie and Palmolive alone.

I have different grates than the ones pictured (mine are cast iron), but it seems from an online search that it's safe for those too. Thank you!
