Anyone have a tried and true recipe?
The one in kosher by design has so much sugar , would like one with less sugar

Boil a bottle of ginger ale and a bottle of ketchup. Drop in 2 bags shredded cabbage and all of your meatballs.

It’s for 2lbs ground beef. The standard soda bottles and ketchup size lol. It ends up being basically equal parts, so just do that. I always eyeball it because I’m not making a bajillion meatballs. Whatever proportions you use will taste good anyway

Use sugar free, and add in your own sweetener if you like

There’s a much easier recipe where you use 2 bags of shredded cabbage, place one on bottom of a 9x13. Sauté onions, add to Boiled up tomato sauce, water, spices with a bit of brown sugar. Mix ground meat with rice and spices and place meat on top of first bag of cabbage, cover with rest of cabbage and pour sauce mixture on top and bake.

Sooo easy and delicious
Layered Cabbage and Chopped Meat
3 lbs chopped meat
1 grated onion
2 eggs
Spread on bottom of 10x 17 pan
Put bag of shredded cabbage on top
Mix 3 – 8 oz cans tomato sauce
1 cup brown sugar
4 t. lemon juice
Pour over cabbage
Bake 3 hours on 350

I never mad with rice cuz I made on pesach but I think u can add rice
