I second Table for Two. Easy, Simple & Practical with ingredients you will have in your pantry or should have. Great beginner cookbook even for a single.

I find that most cookbooks are catered to people living in america- most of ingredients are extremely expensive here. I am thrilled with Peas Love and Carrots- basic ingredients that are found in your house and delicious recipes!
Table for two is basic recipes- great for newlyweds!!

Betweencarpools just came out with a cookbook called Dinner Done.
The goal is extremely simple recipes, lots of 9x13 recipes, and one Pan dinners.
