The fire happened in 2002 I think. It was a few days before tisha b’av. In middle of the night. We all evacuated to the esszall and given kokosh cake & coffee. We were all in our nightgowns & many of us sockless/shoeless & Robeless.
The camp smelled horrible for a while after.
Bh no one got hurt, though I think the roof of the annex bunk did catch fire. I must say the camp handled it very well.
But for years afterwards I slept with socks & made sure there was a robe & slippers mamash in my nose  . And I was always the first one out later on in the D& M building in mbr with the extra sensitive fire alarm that was forever going off. Plenty of midnight fire drills. (As my roommate put it- alarm goes off for one of 3 reasons: 1) you spray Lysol. 2) you take off your shoes 3) a toilet or sink floods )

I’m just going to put it out there that I thought that a guy named rav Tov died and he taught some of you. It took me almost the whole thread to understand that this was the name of a camp..

I know these, if you also do then maybe you're my age and you'll remember what I'm looking for...
There was a performance once with a painting on the stage with a sunset and a shadow of a man on the side. I loved the song and knew it but for some reason I can't remember it as hard as I try last few years... Gorgeous song
