There will be a coronavirus briefing at 10 Downing Street at 4pm. Maybe I'll know more after.

Just saw this:
What are the new Covid rules London?
Pubs and restaurants already had a 10 p.m. curfew under Tier 1, but the new rules mean Londoners will be banned from mixing with other households indoors in any setting. Outdoor gatherings will be limited to six people and people are advised to avoid using public transport where possible.
The areas to go into high alert restrictions this weekend are: London, Essex (apart from Southend and Thurrock), York, North East Derbyshire, Chesterfield, Erewash in Derbyshire, Elmbridge in Surrey, and Barrow in Furness, Cumbria.

Not being allowed into other people’s houses is probably the main change. Can’t understand the changes with restaurants and pubs though. Still allowed to meet outdoors in groups of 6.
Manchester has been like this for a while but may now be moving up a tier to tighter restrictions.
