Not sure where to post this but recently got in the mood to make cornbread. If you make cornbread, what do your serve it with/as? As a dessert? Side? If as a side, what goes well with it?

I serve it as a side to vegetarian chili, along with sour cream and avocado.

This is a good basic recipe: https://grassfedcow.com/recipe.....read/

I serve it with chunky soups like minestrone and lentil vegetable. The leftovers make a good quick breakfast.

Oh soup! Interesting idea. Do you dip the cornbread in it? Or just eat it with it?

Either one. My favorite cornbread recipe (milchig) is fairly firm so it can be dipped, but often we just have it on the side.

I serve it when we do Thankgiving themed Shabbat and also when I make chili.

As a side with chili and as the top layer of tamale pie.
I make it as muffins too but then I use milk and make them dairy.
I've also made dairy broccoli/cheese cornbread which is nice too.

There's a Millenial Kosher recipe that I really liked. I served it as main course muffins.
