Not everyone seems to believe that that's how it works with COVID, though intranasal zinc may cause anosmia.

PSA don’t run to do this if you’re pregnant. My dr said there is not enough research about essential oils and pregnancy. I am trying to smell random different smells to see if it help, but I’ll be honest I haven’t been on top of it. Things like coffee, cloves, lemon juice, onion..

*Olfactory Training by Dr. Zara Patel, assistant professor of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at Stanford University.*
-4 (30ml/1 oz) amber glass jars
-watercolor paper
-rose, clove, eucalyptus & lemon essential oils
(The above is all available on Amazon.)
Cut the heavy watercolor paper to fit the bottom of each jar. Insert the cut paper to line the bottom of the jars. Place 5 drops of one essential oil into the first jar. Label jar & lid and cover so you know what's in the jar; seal tightly. Repeat with remaining 3 essential oils and jars.
2 times a day, take small mindful sniffs of each scent (around 3 sniffs of each), being curious about the smell, and conjuring up in your mind what that scent smells like. Continue to the next.
Meant to be done for around 4 months.

I found this ready made kit on Amazon, I think it also may come out cheaper over buying everything separately..

I had Covid right after Purim and the smell stayed away until I started this.

I spent $43 with next day shipping and free return options. With shipping that link is $44 and not a prime item. Either way is fine.
I was able to make a lot of people kits with my essential oils and watercolor paper. All they had to do was spend $10 for jars. I have lots leftover still.

Have you tried rubbing an onion on the soles of the feet?
Has helped some.
Would assume that it is beneficial for those are are less toxic.
Hatzlacha!

What is this supposed to help for? Taste or smell?
PLEASE PLEASE anybody know what can help me regain my taste? I can smell like 30-50%, but can’t taste anything!
ETA it’s 4 weeks already and doing olfactory training already

Dd told me to try this, not sure where she picked up this tip, but for me it really worked! I have almost gotten my taste and smell back. I need to do it again, and maybe I'll get it back completely.
Peel an onion and cut the edges off. Put it into a pot with water, put to boil. Once it boils, open lid, put a towel over your head and over pot and breathe in the vapor.
I did it for a few seconds intervals, for a few minutes. I did not immediately see the results, but the next day I could eat eggs without them tasting foul, and the smell was that of eggs.
