So what does your son wear as outerwear in the winter?
Mine wouldn't be caught dead in a puffer jacket.

Chassidish boys don't wear puffer jackets or short coats. They wear long coats. Either waterproof or wool. Waterproof is more common.

I meant universal as in not specific to Chassidishe vs Litvishe.
I found the bags in any Judaica store. Judaica Plaza, Judaica Place, Eichlers

I know what you meant, just saying that even in litvish circles not everyone has these. Btw my son wouldn’t be caught dead in a wool coat during the week 😝 Only for shabbos.

More like a trench coat fabric outside, with removable faux fury lining, so can be used for rain or winter, but styled for chassidish levush, no outside buttons or embellishments like buckles.
They used to wear those for rain plus add a plastic protector over their hat.
Now they also sell raincoats specifically for chassidish needs that is plastic with a huge, shaped hood attached to cover hat.

Chassidishe nightgowns. Just like a white night shirt that goes to mid calves.

It's not white. It comes in the same prints as regular mens pj's but it's long.

Hat brush depends on type of hat.
For felt ones you can use brush for dust/spots
I think for beaver fur hats, brush will press down the hairs.

Chassidish boxers come in different lengths

Is there a reason men wear nightgowns?

DH had to wear nightgowns in yeshiva. He said it's supposedly because their form shouldn't be noticeable when they wake up....

DH wore clothes in yeshiva. They didn't do pjs (or nightgowns)

Boxers come in 2 lengths. The shorter one is about knee length (or right on top of knee length).

Nightshirts come in white or colors. I think the white is more chassidish. My husband wears pjs. (oh, who am I kidding? He wears underwear. His drawer wears pjs)

What do you mean clothes? Dress pants, underwear, undershirt, button down shirt and tzitzis or sweatpants and t-shirt?
The clothes they wore that day or would they change into sleeping clothes?

The shorter underwear is knee length? How long is the longer underwear?? That sounds really uncomfortable.

The longer one is knee length I think. The shorter one is mid thighs. My husband wears those from Calvin klein.

What yeshiva doesn't allow sleepwear? Is it a chassidish thing? Never heard of that.

Love what you wrote about sleeping in underwear. Thought it was just my husband. Dh had to go out and buy himself a new pair of PJs once when he went an overnight with some friends.

DH sleeps in his underwear. So does my dad. My FIL is officially in underwear around the house and we have to call before we go so he can get dressed.
