I went to buy velour stretchies today after seeing that recommended here for warmth. I don’t know if it’s the particular store I went to, but the inside did not feel comfortable at all. Any soft warm stretchies to recommend? Or specific brand for velour?

laredoute.com has ultra soft comfortable velour stretchies.
And they're cheaper than the Jewish stores.
ETA: Obviously the baby would be wearing it on top of a 100% cotton bodysuit.

I dress my kids in fleece-lined. Right now I order from Next, but you probably have more options if you're in the States
