I know I need to call the doctor, but figured I could get some ideas of what to look into. My 4 year old snores really badly. Like, we can hear him in our room, siblings can hear him too. He already had his adenoids out about 6 months ago. He's skinny, so it's not a weight issue. What else should we be looking into?

Might be a deviated septum. I have the same thing with my child. He had his adenoids removed as well. My pediatrician sent me to an ent but then covid happened and everything shut down. I should probably make an appointment...

Did he have a sleep study?

I feel like a broken record but I'll ask anyway. Is he tongue tied?

Did he have a sleep study? It could be sleep apnea. Maybe his tonsils. He needs a doctor's appt.

He got snipped as a baby.

No sleep study, he seems well rested during the day.

Did he get his tonsils out at the same time?

This is really a question for your ENT. There could be several reasons. It could be as simple as that he's a really deep sleeper, or that he sleeps on his back. It could be something a bit more complicated.

Definitely rule out apnea first, as that can be very damaging to the body in the long run.

B'H he seems rested during the day. If he's not any more cranky than the usual 4 year old, then I wouldn't be overly worried. Just get him checked out further.

Does he have allergies? Could he? This is a bad year for many people, and having that sitting in your nose and throat could do this.

Excellent point. My allergies are killing me this time of year, even when I go outside with a mask. All I have to do is open a window, and I start sneezing.

Does he sleep with his mouth open?
Tongue tie and snoring are definitely related.

My son snores also I went for a sleep test I had his adenoids checked which were small and they had zero answer. What I do find is when I use nose spray religiously in his nose it makes a huge difference it unclogs everything.

Allergies are a possibility, I suppose. The ent did not feel the need to remove his tonsils 6 months ago, he said they were normal size (though I suppose it's possible to have changed since then). He does sleep with his mouth open. He's always been a mouth breather.
