Prism glasses - Brooklyn

Daughter just got diagnosed with convergence insufficiency and needs prism glasses with progressive lenses for reading in addition to vision therapy Can't Believe It

We went to the store they recommended and they said the lenses cost $250 even if we get frames that are covered by insurance TMI

Is that a typical price? Do you know anywhere reasonable for this? I realized that progressive prism lenses would cost more than the regular glasses I got for another kid but didn't realize it was THAT much more and I'm having a hard time swallowing this Sad

Go to a franchise like in the mall. Will be much cheaper

Just paid 300 for Prism lenses. Their worth every penny for me!!

Yes it could cost that much.
I work for an eye doctor that prescribes prisms and ours cost 150 and up.

Did they say what materiel the lenses are made from.
Our basic poly carbonate starts at 150. Anti glare is 250.

Are you in or near Brooklyn? I'd be a lot happier paying 150 than 250... yes I think it was polycarbonate. The doctor wanted progressive lenses with a small reading prescription on the bottom, which is what they said put the cost way up... Sad

We are in Westchester.
For progressive lenses 250 is not a bad price.
