I think it's annoying. There's rules to this forum about things, including how the hug button is used. Just because some people may be circumventing the rules doesn't mean you should suddenly make your own rules about how to use it.
If you think you can make this site better; by all means, suggest your idea to Yael or the mods.

You can never change others, but a caring person who thought shes doing something nice and now found out that she’s annoying and still continues doing it, is just being stubborn. So that’s why I started this poll. Turns out your hugs are not being appreciated, so if you continue doing it you’re being selfish!

No, because being annoyed isn't the same as being deeply hurt and singled out. If I were selfish, I'd just say "if you can't beat em, join em" and hug posts I don't like.

Selfish and stubborn is continuing to do the same thing that so many people are telling you they find annoying. But anyway, you said you stopped and I appreciate it! Perhaps start a new thread on how to get rid of the PA hugs. I think we should have a dislike button as well. If people are here for opinions they should be ok with getting dislikes. Certainly better than PA hugs.
