What did you mean by that?

What other methods have you tried? Did you try discussing it with Yael? | Can you link to the other thread? I’m missing this in my life.

Who cares?
If every post on a thread is hugged, why should anyone be bothered or hurt?
I actually thought it was such a smart idea.
Reminds me of the story- (cant remember about who) everyone was sitting around the pesach seder, one of the guests were a bit clumsy and spilled his wine, the baal habayis shook the table so that everyones wine spilled a bit and then said "it seems the table is a bit wobbly".

But then when all the posts get hugs its even worse so | Ive kind of turned out the hugs altogether. They have too many meanings and I’m not that good an interpreter. I didn’t even realize this was going on until this thread.

Elfrida wrote: | Someone identifying on this thread as fuschia, and on another thread as puce, and a different colour somewhere else felt that the passive aggressive hugs sometimes given on this website were the biggest and most hurtful insult in the world. She took it on herself to remedy the situation by hugging every post on a thread where she felt there was a hug that could be interpreted as passive aggressive. A number of posters got annoyed, upset or hurt about it, but she remained convinced that she was doing the right thing. Extra credit opened this poll, and the poster bowed to the majority opinion which went against her convictions, and has temporarily stopped distributing random and irrelevant hugs.

MMM...how do you KNOW it's a PA hug unless you're the one who did it?

Thanks. The quote is
Also, this is the nuclear option, the extreme measure, the last resort. There were good ideas early on that did not work out.
I don’t see where she details her methodology though.
This is all fascinating.

Right I love that joke!
Fuchsia, I thought about this conversation over kiddie dinner and decided you’re not selfish at all. Only stubborn. I’m not trying to be nasty. You’re anonymous so hopefully I’m not hurting you. Stubbornness is a great trait if used correctly. In diet, for one. Wish I’d be more stubborn sometimes.

Oh absolutely! Me too.
They are surviving downstairs, while I engage in this important work, as well.
Hope no one down there is too wild or thirsty

No, it’s not that joke.
It’s this one.
There were 2 guys on a train. Strangers. One guy didn’t stop complaining I’m sooooo thirsty, I’m sooooo thirsty, I’m sooooooooo thirsty for the first half hour of the ride. Guy #2 was getting super annoyed and knew he’s still stuck with the complainer for another half hour so he gave him his own precious drink so that he should quit annoying him for the remainder of the ride.
Guy #1 took the drink, gulped it down and started again “boy was I thirsty before, you can’t imagine how thirsty I was. I was sooooo thirsty....” for the next half hour.
Fuchsia what’s the nimshal?

I assume she meant that she already stopped hugging all over (she gave us her drink) so can we quit this convo already?
Do I get extra credit, fuchsia?

Wow, you do get extra credit!!!
So smart!
That makes sense.
Thank you, fuchsia for stopping with the hugging.
What I've learned from this thread is to try to think before PA hugging.
I already held myself back once in the past hour.
Did you try a thread requesting that?

Do you think it would be a good idea to add a dislike button all over? Would be used in place of a PA hug.
