Esther's daughter entertains a friend who goes on about how amazing her mother is. The daughter has to cook and prepare dinner for the other kids and is cynical when hearing praise about her mother. The friend asks if she could get a job at the magazine and the daughter shoots her down. Esther speaks to her brother David (they have a weird codependent relationship) about how she had a panic attack in the middle of her speech at the big conference because she remembered how her husband used to buy her flowers and she never thanked him. Esther shared that she's worried that her boss is upset how she flaked during the speech especially as there is a big new advertiser meeting coming up. She then gets a message from her boss saying he wants to meet asap.
