If you watch secular movies and shows do you refrain from watching R rated material?

Depends why it earned the rating.

If its R for s-xuality or violence, I would not watch it.

I'm very careful with not watching anything dirty. even pg13 has plenty of unclean words and stuff sometimes.

rated r covers a lot violence. drugs, foul langauge, nudity etc....

I grew up in a more modern home where watching anything was fair game. Some things were of course not shown to young children, but at a certain age, everything was watched. Male and female alike. It definitely disturbed me.

I currently do not watch any secular movies myself.

I have a feeling you are looking at this thru the narrow lense of your own personal experiences. I live in a community where many frum women would watch a rated R movie. I'm assuming in your community most probably wouldn't.

"Most frum women" are not on this site.
All my friends watch rated R movies and almost none of them are on here.

Yes I do. So does my husband. It wouldn’t occur to either of us not to. R rated means you have to be older than 17 which we both are.

I'm not a fan of movies that are really heavy on graphic violence, but anything else is fine.

My husband loves action movies like fast and the furious, mission impossible he also loves Star Wars and so on. I like those deep series and so on and easy watching things, I don't care if I see nudity I don't like shooting but s-x is less disturbing for me then blood, shooting and violence.

While I technically would I find r rated is almost just an excuse to curse every outher word and I don't love that so it's not my first go to but I will watch a select few that are r that I just really like the plot

Lin-Manuel Miranda specifically said that he bleeped out two instances of the f word in Hamilton so that way it could be shown on Disney+ otherwise it would have been rated R. And Disney didn't want R movies on its streaming service.
