I've been fighting insomnia for over a week now.
It's 5am, and I'm just starting to maybe get a little sleepy, so I think I'll try and lie down. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I see something LARGE, moving VERY, VERY FAST! 
Of course, I can't sleep with a spider zipping around my bedroom, so I have to find a shoe and smack it.
Now I'm WIDE AWAKE.

“Insomnia Fighter”
I saw a spider,
Shud I fight her?
Shud I hide her?
Shud I bite her?
Squash her tighter?
No!
I’ll delight her,
I’ll sit beside her,
I’m awake wider,
Goodbye nighter!

Oh no FF.
This Murphy law. Always have this after an all nighter when I try to nap, the phone must ring with some stupid telemarketing punkt when I dose off...
Do you know though if he’s the 🕷 of the song? (Guess not cuz that was an Itsy bitsy spider  )
Hope your sleep doesn’t run away again & you get well rested in whatever’s left of your night... sometimes I tell Hashem that anyway he’s in charge of giving me koach, it doesn’t have to depend on how many hours of sleep it happens...

Still awake.
Once my adrenaline goes up, it takes a really long time to go back to normal.
One of the lovely side effects of having a disregulated autonomic nervous system.

A mouse in her room woke miss dowd
She was frightened and screamed very loud
Then I happy thought hit her
To scare off the critter
She sat up and whimpered ‘meow!’
I think I wrote this for a school assignment in 5th grade.
Beats me why I still remember it!

An old man from Peru
Dreamt he was eating his shoe
He woke up in fright
In middle of the night
And found it was perfectly true!
Teacher gave us this poem in 6th grade to teach us this style of writing. Why I remember this and not my childrens’ names beats me!

Hey! This is the totally the poem she gave us! I remember it!
And then we had to write our own.
And I just blanked on what this poem is actually called, yet I do remember the poem... go figure
