I'm realizing how certain topics make people so worked up - that the topic gets tens of replies immediately - and each one is at least a paragraph long and loaded with emotion.

Can you share which topics would be a can of worms for you?
What would make you respond immediately and passionately?

Certain posts that work everyone up totally don't interest me personally.
I want to hear what works you up personally!

A person bashing therapy would get an instant scathing rebuke from me.

“There was tons of fraud at the voting booths”

“Masks don’t help”

“I refuse to vaccinate my dd and kids won’t come here for a playdate”

“My husband just yelled at me, do I divorce”

“ Is cleaning help a luxury or necessity”

“Kimpeturin heims, do you go..?”

“Is this abuse”?

I don’t know why, but you’ll always find me correcting people’s misconceptions about evolution, geology, astronomy, relativity and other scientific concepts.

I don’t try to force any particular beliefs on anyone, but I will correct your bad science, by golly. A lady doesn’t start fights, but she *will* end them. Don’t use something as a “proof” if you don’t actually understand it, PLEASE.

What I meant here (without naming anyone) is give me a topic and I know the names of the posters who will be contributing most. I open the thread and know exactly which posters I will see. Got my gist?

That you can’t use birth control without a heter.

That you can’t turn down a DH who wants zex.

I’m not working in any scientific fields at the moment, but I was a science teacher, and science education and communication are important to me.

Otherwise, I just read a lot. My husband has a PhD in quantum chemistry (as close to physics as you can get while still calling it chemistry; so much math, not so many beakers) so we’re a very science-nerdy household.

Vaccinate or not?!?!?
Homebirth vs hospital birth!!!

My strong opinion: Homebirth are for woman who are totally naive! They have no clue what issues can crop up the last moment. May they never have to know.
There are certain problems that can happen randomly to any woman giving birth, even if you've never been high risk. Midwives cannot treat dangerous scenarios. There's no time to rush to a hospital in such circumstances. Talking from experience. God forbid if I would have tried giving birth at home. Me, and two of my children wouldn't have made it. I've had some typical birth experiences And I am not high risk at all. No one is guaranteed against such experiences.

If the intimacy forum touches slightly on **** and **** I will give brief, tasteful reassurance or clarification.

Imamother is not the place for extended discussion of these topics, and I am by no means an expert or s-x therapist. But the core concepts of consent, curiosity and communication can benefit even the most vanilla of relationships.

(I’m normal, I promise. 😈)

The blatant fact that covid became all abt politics rather than abt health gets me all worked up. I stopped opening any threads related to covid.

Threads that make sweeping statements, generalizations and stereotypes without leaving room for individuality.

I don't like the non-tolerance on many threads including vaccination, homebirthing, covid threads, sending kids away PP. Extreme thinkers on either side get me very agitated and prompt me to post an opposing view, just to open up another viewpoint. Most things in life are not black and white; there's loads of gray and many things depend on individual circumstances.
