Has anyone seen/bought the new kichel game at any of the Toys4u stores? Is it a good fun game? I'm going to be in Brooklyn for a day and wanted to know if it's worth heading to a store to get it. I saw it in their flyer but don't see it on their website.

Does anyone know if there's a legal issue with it? It's literally an exact copy of cards against humanity. Even the promotional ads are the dame.

The only different is the kichels is frum words and clean.

Most of the Jewish games are copies of others in Jewish versions. Nearly all.

I hear. But it's odd to me an international company like Mishpacha would support this.

Why would it be a legal issue? All Jewish games are copies from the regular games.

Just because lots of people do it doesn't mean it's legal. We were just talking about this over shabbos I was by my in laws cuz I noticed the ads in the Mishpacha. My father in law has been a lawyer for over 15 years. He said it can definitely be a problem legally.

Isn't Cards Against Humanity basically Apples to Apples? A lot of games like this exist.

I don't think the game is out yet either. The ads said "in stores soon."

The companies making the game are big companies that I'm sure aren't looking for legal trouble. I'm sure if they're doing this it's legal. If toys 4 u produces something, they know what they're doing and they're not looking for trouble. It's not the exact same game with the exact same pictures and exact same words.

So after the whole legal discussion does anyone know if toys4u has it in stock yet?

There have been many spinoffs of CAH. To me, clean is not an "only" difference, it is THE reason I don't play CAH and am very happy to see a similar game I can enjoy comfortably.

I have concerns about that usually, but in this case the content is entirely original and I think they may have added some other twists.

In the flyer it said 24.99 but I think full price is 29.99.

I just called toys4u now that they opened at 10:30 they said it's not in yet should be in in the beginning of next week.

Rats. I was thinking this is something I would splurge on because it feels really fun, but that's more than I am willing to spend on this.

I haven't seen Cards Against Humanity but when I saw the ad I thought, Apples to Apples. So if CAH can do it, I guess others can follow.

ETA: Which came first, CAH or ATA?
