I have had cheaper wigs ($500 - $1200) my whole life, and I think I am ready to invest in a really good wig after 25+ years of marriage.
I never had a wig that I really liked, and that I felt like it made me 'shine' when I looked in the mirror. Most of my wigs were just OK, and quite uncomfortable (I'm a little sensory). Although I never had a magnificent hair as a single, I still liked it so much better than wearing a wig. I tried hats for awhile, but it is limiting, and most women in my community wear wigs.
I wear shoulder length brown wigs with some lighter highlights, and prefer a little wavy to completely straight. I would go for curly, but these are probably harder to maintain, and I am not so handy with my sheitels.
If you have a Shevy -- are you happy with it? And is it worth the investment? Also, if you have suggestions for other excellent wigs, mid-range price or a bit more, I would love to hear.

Shevy uses to be IT, but there are so many more brands to consider now. I don’t think shevy would be on my list.

How much do you want to spend?
Top of the line right now is prob yaffi or dini, you’re looking at at least $3k
Many many people are happy with beautiful wigs that are a lot less than that. Miri, Eva and Chloe, sary, bk, are just a few that come to mind.
It’s worth taking the time to go through the sheitel forum just to get an idea.

I have an RX lacetop and it's really comfortable. An inch or two below shoulder length. Super lightweight. Light natural waves. Paid in the 2Ks

Yafi and dini are closer to 5... if you want to spend 3 on a high quality wig, go with Kiki

I got it from a sheitelmacher, but it's @rxwigs on instagram. I think it's from the Renaissance brand.

I was thinking max between 3 to 4k. I would not mind spending less, of course. I just don't want to get stuck with yet another wig I don't love. I very rarely, if ever, splurge. But I feel that this is something I need to do for myself, to feel good with how I look.

Lately whenever I compliment somebody’s wig. It’s an Irene. They have lace front ones now that look amazing. $1700

My lace front Dini, blond brown 1 inch below shoulder, was $4000. It's my most uncomfortable wig and the hair needs to be treated it's frizzy... Love my Irene blunt dolce 975 on sale!
