Am I supposed to suspect that I may have it again?

My young daughter had a cough last week, and now my son does too as well, and now me too...

It can happen again. Get tested.

If you want to, get tested to reassure yourself.

There are plenty of reasons why a cough might be going g through your family without it necessary being Corona. Second time infections do happen, but are less frequent.

Back in the day... people had common colds. They coughed, sneezed, and had a sore throat.

Neh those are non-existent. Flu is gone. Colds are gone. CDC even stopped counting cases because it's gone. I think because people are dilgently wearing masks and social distancing. See only COVID can still be passed on Most respitory illnesses are gone. I mean the PCR test is meant to pickup only coronvirus. Ask Fauci.

My son has strept. He got a really bad cough and his throat was hurting more, even on meds. Dr recommended we test for Covid. It was negative.

4 days on medicine, dc is still coughing and cant talk much.

It was a really odd comment. Op has a legitimate question and there's no need to give that kind of snarky response.

I don’t know why everyone makes it sound like it can’t possibly be COVID. Sure, it could be something else, but it could also be COVID. It would be prudent to get tested. While you’re there, also get a strep test and a flu test.

If antibodies last 3 months then covid in July doesn’t mean anything.

My daughter was coughing. I took her for a rapid test to see if I can send her to school.

It's true that in a normal year I wouldn't think twice about a cough with no other symptoms, but I think it's prudent to do due diligence this season. If we want schools to stay open, we must be careful not to send kids with covid to school.
