My almost 3 year old talk to himself in bed if he doesnt fall asleep right away. This includes singing, talking, laughing as well as plain making sounds.
Just wondering if it’s normal or an issue of concern?
Thank you

This is how my two most active kids fall asleep every night.

Probably a verbally talented child. DD is the valedictorian type.. she used to talk like this in bed till age 6! I was able to hear from her bedroom all that happened during the day in school.. Amazing talents today bH!

All of it is totally normal! And so so cute. I loved listening to my son talking and singing to himself before he fell asleep.

I know I am being paranoid, but today everything is diagnosed and I am so insecure already.

I'm 34 and a half and I still talk to myself. Not so much in bed anymore but sometimes in the morning when I'm waking myself up and stuff. I'd have to ask my mom if I did it when I was younger but.... I also talked to myself at work ... At work it I think it helps me focus and concentrate probably not the same as a toddler talking themselves to sleep but

Little kids talk to themselves at night to process what happened to them during the day. It's important brain work (and also very cute!). Don't worry, be glad things are going as they should.

My 3 year old and 6 year old talk to themselves almost every night. It helps them fall asleep. It's totally normal.
