Purchased a new phone, a printer, giving 25% to tzedakah and the rest to get ahead of bills. We like to start the year a month ahead on bills so we have room to splurge or fall behind chas vshalom later in the year.

This threads is poison. It can create jealousy. I'm thinking that that stimulus check was meant to help out those struggling financially due to the pendamic, and I see people who are well off just putting it into savings.
Stop it right here.

Making a bar mitzvah in the summer. Using it to buy tefillin and the rest towards bar mitzvah expenses.
I'm so greatful.
My older few boys, grandparents helped pay for the tefillin. Now, their finances are very tight and we ordered the tefillin having no idea how we were going to cover it.

I really wanted to use it for a sheitel but we have a big bill coming up (property taxes) and our savings were decimated by this pandemic so we're using it to pay bills. I had really been hoping they would raise the amount to 2,000 or even 1,200 per person but no such luck it seems.
Eventually my husband will have work again Mad
Whomever said a 6 month or even 12 month emergency fund was enough never lived through a pandemic Crying

My son gets a lot of extra services that costs me upwards of $10k a year. That’s where the last check went to and it’s still going towards that

Everyone receiving it filed taxes and paid tax according to their income level. You have a choice to read the thread or not to read it.

I'm sorry you're in a bad place.

This is one of the nicest things I’ve read in a while. Thanks for giving me hope in humanity again!
