Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who can evaluate a child with speech delays to see if he is on the spectrum or something else? The parents were given a date for almost a year from now and they want to get the process started so the kid can get therapy. Any ideas for them?

That sounds way out! They should contact their Kupah for a full eval. If they are English speaking olim, they should contact Chaim V'chessed. They are extremely helpful.

I would contact Beit Issie and ask them who they recommend.

I will look at these options. They are English speaking olim without a lot of connections, so I'd like to help point them in the right direction, though I don't live there. Trying to help without stepping on toes. I knew it didn't sound right... Thank you so much!

I heard that Ariel university just opened a testing center and have appointments available. I’m not sure if it’s true, but is worth looking into (but I do think they need to pay)
By the way, if they can afford it it’s worth it to get a private eval so the can get into special ed and/or get services sooner. Waiting times at the kupah are insane.

I don't know amounts. Any idea how much a private eval would be? They were thinking NIS 2000. Seems high. Is that anywhere near? And if they can get a private eval-can they submit to the kupah to get the therapy?
When you say crazy waits through kupah-how long? They got an appointment for almost a year from now and wanted to know if that is really what they tell people.
