Smaller beds so it won’t be cramped to add a play pen or another blow up mattress if needed one day.

The consideration of where a pack'n'play would go is really important. Guests rooms often go to couples with a baby/toddler.

I'd go with bigger, too. It's more comfortable for adults, and I actually like having a bed against the wall. OP, what did you end up deciding?

The bigger the bed's the better. If I had the room I would never put 39-in beds in s guest room. Personally, I have two guest rooms, one has 39-in beds and one has full size beds. I hope one day to change the 39-in beds to at least 48.
It makes a huge difference when you go away, if you have bigger beds.

It's a wide window between the 44 inch beds so there's place for a portable crib there.

Obviously the 44” beds. Guests prefer comfort over looks. The layout against the wall sounds very nice as well.

I have full beds in my guestroom and my guests are very appreciative.

I prefer having 1 side of the bed against a wall. That said, can't stand headboards blocking windows.
