Has anyone gotten a refund from a travel agent for the unused portion of their child's El Al group flight back from Israel last spring? I have tried to get a refund from El Al but they are directing me to the travel agent. The travel agent is claiming that El Al is still holding on to the funds.

Had a booked flight a few days after Purin to JFK, never got a refund yet, they hardly answer the phones and only after hours, each time with another crazy reason

My husband is a travel agent and has been dealing with this for the last 8 months.
Yes, El Al is holding on to the money and directing the passengers to the travel agents (even if it was a refundable flight).
No, El Al is not refunding money easily at all (even if it was a refundable ticket).
They are giving credit - which no one really wants....

Good luck!

My husband is a travel agent, and as far as I know,
None of the airlines are issuing refunds, only vouchers/credits which are valid for 2 years from the issuing date.
FYI, the airlines always blame the travel agents for everything.
ETA: here is ElAL policy regarding ticket cancellations:

Please only do this if El Al charged your card, not the travel agent.

This is bad advice.
