Mushroom barley soup.
I make it up as I go along, but Google and you will find plenty of recipes.
Or split pea soup.

Yes. Had it last Shabbos (not for the first time). Worked absolutely fine.
You might want to start with a little bit more water than normal, but on the low setting it doesn't evaporate too much.

yes just add more liquid.
I just put a beef mushroom barley soup up this morning from Busy in Brooklyn.
