If you're just opening a business, how do you find where do buy whatever you're selling? Also, is there a normal range for the markup?
I'm wondering in the categories of food and also games/activities.
I'm pretty clueless in this topic. Yes, I'm doing research elsewhere also.

Also, what would a minimum order look like wholesale?

Five years ago when I dabbled in e-commerce I got merchandise from dhgate and alibaba. Not sure what the climate is like now though

I work in a supermarket. You probably have to contact the big name food brands directly to set up accounts. Each one will have their own terms and minimums.
For toys, you have to again contact the toy brands. Go on the websites and look for a contact link or a link to sell their stuff

When I started a business, we researched companies that provided products and set up accounts with the ones we wanted to work with.
We looked at what competing businesses were selling for and decided on our price based on the market at the time.
We adjusted all the time as needed.
There's so much info available online about any industry.
