"Sorry, but only users granted special access or are in this usergroup can reply to posts in this forum".

I havent posted anything political in many months.

Are there any clear rules to get someone special access, or is everyone accepted or denied on an individual basis?

I dont know, I am not privy to that info. But, the rules are clear, so if someone follows them then they can join. If someone is not admitted, they know what they have to work on. But, you said you havent posted anything political in months; you should post in politics when its back to open to all so Yael has what to go by.

Is anyone willing to chime in on whether they were accepted/rejected...

Probably fifty people will be willing to chime in as soon as they see this. And then the thread will devolve into another arguement about the whole policy.

Personally, I never applied. Occasionally I have what to say, but I'm not normally interested in the big controversial issues, and I decided that whatever I wanted to say could be said when politics was open to all - or just never said, and probably no one would miss it.

Me too. Thanks for making me feel validated.

Not worth asking imho, only to be rejected....

I think we all gain from this policy. The same posters get to keep rehashing their arguments and popping their blood vessels while we just observe. Yael did us a tovah by sparing us from being sucked into the toxicity.

I just wish everyone would be accepted and then just booted if they do something improper.

Im uncomfortable with the "lets vote on their worthiness" atmosphere.
