looking for a dentist who will do a root canal on a nine year old regular dentist can't do it and said there is no one else unless to do it I pay out of pocket I have Jersey care I can't afford to pay out of pocket.
anyone have recommendation please I don't want my son to loose hos tooth

I’ve been off Jersey care for a few yrs. but in my experience all Jersey care dentists will cap the tooth with a silver cap. Did you try the dentist in Gourmet Glatt plaza?

I have private insurance and the dentist said that if its a baby tooth- no insurance will pay for a white cap.

I have used Shore Childrens Dental Care and have been happy. There are mixed reviews about the group (you can look at old threads) but I have had mostly positive experiences and they accept jersey care. I think for a Jersey care dentist they are way up there. I personally stayed even when I got private insurance.

I use an excellent children's dentistry it's called tots to teens. It's in holmdel about half hour away. Total worth the trip. U can Google it and see for yourself. They're amazing with kids. I had root canals done on my little kids and they were great!

Is it a baby tooth or adult tooth? Most general pediatric dentists with do a root canal on a baby tooth in their office. It sounds like the OP is talking about an adult tooth, as her dentist is sending her to a specialist. The endodontist many use, myself included, is Dr. Zohn. He does excellent work, but he does not take medicaid; even my private insurance only covers part.

My sister needed a root canal on an adult tooth for her 8 year old. Nobody wanted to do it she called her HMO (she had United Health care) They found her dentist in Elizabeth to do it.

Did you call your HMO?

My friend is extremely happy with Encore.
(The jackson office currently doesn't take outside referrals so she called the brick office for a consultation and if they also say her son needs a root canal she'll make an appointment in Jackson office.)

I used them also, we were very happy. This was for an older teen, I didn't see any younger kids there but it's worth asking them. They were very gentle and very kind and warm.
