My baby bangs his head really hard on the crib railings. Either sitting up and banging his head back, or rocking on all fours. I was told to put strong padding so he doesnt get the desired input, he will hopefully stop. 13 months old. The doctor said he isnt concerned but I am. I dont like it at all, its every night and morning and its too much. The doctors attitude is like he will get older and grow out of it. But its going on for months and he is rocking stronger and stronger. he does have special ed and speach . He moves a lot non stop.
I want strong thick padding. Not concerned about breathing as he is fully mobile and active in his crib

Maybe a pack n play would be better for him? Still has a railing, yes, but not as many bars etc as a regular crib

The railing is usually metal, but its worth a try 😉

You can buy a large roll of foam. Cut a strip to wrap around each crib rail and duct tape it from the outside of the crib. If your child might bite off pieces than you'll need to cover it with something like a large pieces of fabric. Have strings sewn into the fabric to tie all the top and bottom corners, like a huge crib bumper.
