And it's not called "corona". Just like meningitis isn't "men" and shigella "shig". It's coronavirus or COVID.

This too, but I choose to pick my battles. (also, influenza is flu, hepatitis B is hep b human immunowhatever virus is HIV... so it's not crazy to shorten the name)

But Influenza is called the flu, and streptococcus is called strep.

My soul sister!!!
I also feel its more correct to call it covid19. There are many types of coronavirus, including afaik the common cold. Although maybe it should be called covid19/20/21 at this point...

Hmm. When someone has the flu I don't hear anyone calling it H1N1 or whatever strain it is lol.

If you look it up, strep is the correct abbreviation for streptococcus.
