Hi all,
My 12 year old daughter recently grew some over the lip facial hair. She doesn't realize. I do, her little brother told her she has, but she thinks its just like a shadow from her nose
Do I tell her the truth and see if she wants it removed?
or wait for her to figure it out?
And if I opt for removal whats the best way to get rid of it for someone her age.
she has darker skin so bleaching wouldn't work.
Thanks

Electrolysis is best. Just suggest it to her in a matter of fact way. She's most likely aware, just embarrassed to say anything.

She has to be ready for electrolysis because it hurts. Let her try a waxing first and then see if she can handle upgrading to electrolysis.

My dd too has it. I'm gonna do laser. Waiting for her periods to regulate first.

If you have the money, do electrolysis! I had the same issue when I was your daughters age and was to embarrassed to admit it to anyone or ask my mom what to do. I ended up waiting till I was 16 to ask to get electrolysis and then I was very happy. but was so self conscious those 4 years and wish I did it sooner.

I would not point it out unless she does. There’s no law against it and it’s pretty common so no reason to make her feel self conscious if she isn’t already (they’ll be enough of that in the next fe years 😫)

She first has to go through puberty before she can start with h electrolysis. Recommended age is 16 years.
She can have it bleached at this age. In a year or so, she can start waxing.
Removing hair is no joke, hair growth works with hormones.

That's exactly why I'm waiting. DD is 16 already but isn't regulated yet so I'm waiting. She knows. We had a discussion and she bh understands.

my 18 year old dd just started electrolosis you need to wait until her body matures the best thing for now is wax and later on electrolosis it is painful but get her the emla cream which numbs it before electrosis. don't make her feel self conscience about it as it is a part of life and nothing she can do about it except for hair removal. My dd has been going for waxing since elementary school and just now started electrolosis also make sure to take her to someone reliable ask other people in your area whom they use and trust.
