Anxious and excited
On the day
To see that little peanut
On the screen
Go evenly up and down
Indicating a live fetus
It's my first visit of this pregnancy

There I'm lying
Hopeful all is well
But to my dismay
I'm sorry, there's no heartbeat
You miscarried
Some time ago
He doesn't tell me when
And I'm not sure why

My lips quiver
I leave saying, thank you Dr
But inside me
I don't know what's flying
I'm all confused
It's my first miscarriage

But with my supporting spouse
And family
I feel
I know
I will get through this ordeal

It's meant to be.
