Is it only my babies who don’t want to eat?

Both my babies were so difficult to feed as infants. They both were bottle fed and every feeding was a battle instead of hungry baby just happily gulping. I’ve tried several bottles and formulas and thought this one was working. Now my current baby is also giving me a hard time. Due for feeding and pushing out the nipple. I would love to for once have a baby who actually likes eating and will take whatever I give!!

Yup all my babies, one of the many reasons I don't nurse. It took forever to get them to eat, such a frustrating experience. Most of my babies grew out of it by a few months and started scarfing down their bottles eventually. One never drank bottle well, was a really stressful year until they were eating enough solids and I could stop pushing bottles.

yes, doc said he had a tiny tongue tie, too insignificant to snip. He nursed and took a bottle fine in the beginning and only started getting difficult at a month old.

Your baby might have silent reflux. It only surfaces after about a month. No obvious sympotoms unless you are looking for it. The main sign is not wanting to eat. And being uncomfortable AFTER eating instead of being relaxed and sleepy.
Hiccups, sneezing and swallowing in their sleep are also signs. They also might find dream feeding more comfortable.

If you think it’s silent reflux, you can ask your doctor how you would know- or if they would let you do a trial of baby reflux meds

Go to a good gastroenterologist. Do the babies have torticollus- s crooked neck? If so, when you get some PT feeding should get easier.

No such thing. If baby is having a hard time with feeding, showing signs of silent reflux (sneezing/hiccups) , the tongue tie can definitely be a cause. Look up Dr. Bobby Ghaheri and Dr. Scott Siegel.

Sounds like you might need a new doctor. A doctor is there to help you, and should be willing to take your concerns seriously.

The only way to know for sure if its silent reflux is to see if they respond to meds. We finally tried a PPI (works much better than an H2 blocker) and within 2 days the baby was totally diffrent. Completely relaxed and eating better. All hiccups and sneezing and swallowing went away. My only regret was that we had waited so long to try it. You should know right away if it's helping or not. Go to a pediatric GI, they will know more about it than a pediatrician and will make sure you get the right meds at the right dose.
