After four boys and 18 months of physical and emotional challenges, I am expecting a girl.

We are so full of graditude. We feel so blessed. We'd like to thank God for the health and healing he has sent and continues to send us.

We have a few family names we could use, but they all have numerous grandchildren with the name, and we'd rather choose a name that feels right to us.

I'd love to hear any ideas of names with a nod to graditude, healing, blessings. My husband is Israeli, so Israeli names tend to talk to him, and I love biblical names, but we're open to anything!

We thought of it. It's meaning is perfect, but we just don't like the sound of it!

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Aliza, Chedva, Rina, Gila, etc. to express happiness

Yehudis or Tehilla to express gratitude

Rafaela (if you’re okay with the feminine version of male names) to express healing

Other similar ideas:

Tikva (hope)
Ruchama or Nechama (comfort)
Chana (thanks for answered prayers, since Chana taught us a lot about tefillah)
Chaya/Chava (renewed life)
Talya (dew from Hashem, dew representing gentle, ongoing sustenance)

Personally, I would go through the names who I can name for and try to use one. It really makes people happy and can be a zechus. Maybe discuss with a rav if you should even think that way? Otherwise, do whatever floats your boat. I know plenty of people who gave yehudis for various reasons.

Tova

We used it to express our thanks and our recognition that Hashem was so good to us (medical miracles), and as a hope for our child's future.

(Which just shows how even common names can be deeply personal to a parent.)

We just had a girl and named her Shoshana
We are calling her Rosie
Had a rough past few years (separated/addiction family issues etc) and this girl is a reminder of how far we’ve come. She gives us so much hope.

I Love this! I was also looking for a name to add to a girl's name and really like Tova. Thanks!
