Even in the non Jewish world, challah is considered a good type of bread to use for French toast.

I guess that should work. I’ll try it.

Thanks!

Yes. I recently found out that it’s a thing when we got one in the food box 😉. I believe it was Crustner’s (?).
But egg challah works beautifully for a French toast.

The best bread for French toast is brioche. Which doesn’t really exist in Jewish bakeries unless you make it yourself. Egg challah is comparable substitute.

Challah or brioche are 10/10 french toast breads. Even non-Jewish people will use challah for this!

Use leftover challah but if you are using a dairy milk make sure the challah wasn't on the table near the fleishig food by the meal. If it was, I just use a dairy free milk substitute and it works great too. For a secret ingredient, use the tiniest bit of garlic powder as well as cinnamon in the custard mixture. I know it sounds weird but it so so good

I've never made a random bread french toast that I regretted. Can't really go wrong Smile
