Rather than borrowing / library.

Can anyone recommend good books that are worth owning and re-reading?

No novels. Self-help books so long as they aren’t too deep. Nonfiction, true stories...

Thank you

Great suggestions. How old do you want to go?
To Remain a Jew
Reaching to Heaven
Rav Gustman
The Six Constant Mitzvos

I'll probably think of lots more after logging off.

I often like old ones more than newer ones. So long as they’re still available for purchase at their standard prices.

Any. Not limited to Jewish.

Do you have any hobbies? Things you want to learn? Not sure if this is relevant to you at all, but I got a book called “The Business Side of Creativity,” which was very helpful when I started my freelance business. Just one example, but there are tons of helpful books out there that are great to own as reference books.

Reference books, like a really good dictionary, and Jewish history.

Well, what books do YOU like to read? I buy books that I have a hankering to read more than once. Like the Harry Potter series. My favorite author. Etc.

I used to be into romance novels, but I find that I no longer care to read them. I should probably give away all the books I have. Even when I try to re-read them I find myself rolling my eyes, lol.

I haven’t had much time to think about these things in a while. But thanks for the idea. Will think a bit.

I enjoy true stories, nonfiction, lite self-help books. Not anything specific, but like you, I no longer enjoy novels in general. And I certainly wouldn’t purchase them to own and re-read.

If it’s not too shameless a plug, I can (objectively, of course! 😜) recommend my book “With All I Am,” which is a true story.

I liked Mountain Climbers. Also the books by CB Weinfeld - like A Handful of Stars, Tapestry of Stars, etc. They're real life short stores, inspirational, nicely written.
I also like Malcolm Gladwell (not jewish books) - like Outliers, Blink, David and Goliath.
You can get those out of the library. You can probably get one of the CB Weinfeld books out of the library too.

Very good, rereadable books!
Which reminds me of one novel worth buying and rereading every year or so at this time of year: Dual Discovery by Zecharya Hoffman.
