I have three kids aged 4-8 all sitting on the kitchen counter next to each other watching on a tablet. One of the favorite places to watch is on my counters. They will also grab a step stool to get a snack and then sit on the counter to eat it. I never did this as a kid and it really drives me crazy but I can go blue in the face saying we don’t sit on the counter and before I know it there is a kid watching or snacking on the counter. Do your kids sit on counters instead of chairs too???

mine don't. it would make me crazy if they did but I've seen that in other families that's normal.

My kids love the counters too. I’m pretty strict about not sitting there. I take them by the hand when I catch them climbing up. I think they like the view better from there. I had on counter jumper- she’s in OT now

As kids we always did! Heck we do it in moms house as adults too. Everyone chilling on a different counter and shmoozing...

In my moms house we never did. No place for a person to sit without knocking into a cabinet or falling into the sink 😂
My husband otoh, I have a picture of him sitting on the counter lol
In my house, my husband and I sometimes sit. My kids are under 9 and generally don't sit. Minute my toddler asks to go up, when I'm there, I jump right off haha

Mine don't but it actually sounds really cute. I can understand the appeal- it must be fun to be sitting higher up. My husband would probably HATE it (dirty clothing on the counter where food is prepared!).

I sit on my counters...
It actually bothers me more when my kids sit on the table. I wouldn’t mind them on my counter except they use the drawer handles as a ladder and their goal isn’t to sit, it’s to reach for the inaccessible nosh.

One of my siblings once got their foot caught in the cord of the hot water urn and it fell on her as she climbed down
My children may never climb on the counter.
