I’m in bad shape and want to start exercising. I’m thinking of getting an exercise bike. I’m willing to spend money if it’s a good bike and if it’s worth it. TIA

I can't give you advice about that, but I just wanted to ask if a stationary bike is the best? Isn't an elliptical the best excercise machine? I would personally rather ride a real bike.

An elliptical is great, but it generally takes up much more space than a stationary bike, and while riding outside is definitely much more enjoyable, it may not be possible due to weather variability, community norms, etc.

Right. I can’t ride bike outside. I wonder if the elliptical is a better choice. Also I’m considering a recumbent bike it looks more comfortable.

I've never tried the peloton but iirc these are the benefits over the peloton:
-Virtual riding all over the globe. Not just studio classes.
-Adjusts resistance and incline automatically based on the instructor and/or terrain
-Has a fan

I personally hate the Peloton. If you are considering it, try one first.

some of my friends love it and some hate it so it really just has to suit you- definitely try it out first

I was about to buy the peleton and I tried it at the store last week. It week kind of uncomfortable. It’s the only machine I tried. I used a recumbent at the gym several times and it was more comfortable (a year ago when the gym was open). I never tried an elliptical.

It sounds exiting to actually feel like you are riding all over the world.

If you haven’t already, please take several spin classes before deciding that a bike is for you (if it’s a spin bike you are looking for). I know a few people who bought one before knowing what spin was about and hated it.

These hybrid trainers take up more space than a bike but less than both a bike and an elliptical.

Wow why does it take so much space?

I’m in my 50’s and I’m not in great shape. I’m scared to go to these classes. And now everything is closed in my state. But it’s a good idea. The thing is that I can watch a movie while on the bike so it won’t be boring.

It doesn't take up that much space. It's bigger than a bike, but it's about the same size as an elliptical.

May I ask where you saw this hybrid trainer? I'm looking for one myself.
