How can I cook these for dinner ? I don’t like prunes

Sauté onion & garlic. Toss meat with 3-4 tbsp flour and add to pot to brown. Add potatoes, carrots, bay leaf and water (paprika optional). Cook about 2 hours until tender. Mix in salt and pepper, tasting as you go until very flavorful. Remove bay leaf and serve.

Sounds yum!
You can add some of the following:
Tomato sauce
Soy sauce
Bit of grape juice or wine
Etc...

I like to cook/bake flanked for 3 hours to be soft- but you obviously need to have enough liquid
