Wait a little... slowly people will be taking out their pesach pots and start cooking

Actually, one year I was talking to someone about her pesach menu and she mentioned string beans. I said,” oh I guess you eat kitniyos”. She had no idea that string beans were kitniyos!!

Brief outline
Fri nite lox and dips with Pesach crackers. Regular chicken soup. Chicken and potatoes.
Shabbos morn kiddush and wash and coffee and cake and bentch. Lunchtime yapchik followed by Naps
Will have salmon latkes to hand for late shabb afternoon and bits.

Seder I do soup (so kids can have as and when they need before meal) followed by brisket and kugal or mash and veg....fruit salad for desert.
Second Seder will do turkey roll.
Day meals are fish salmon and gefilta...lots of dips and salads...no soup....a protein, kugal and hot veg followed by cake and ice cream.
I know yt is special but there's plenty of work to do without killing ourselves over millions of dishes
We are 12 at every meal.
No guests

To be fair, kitniyos is a random collection of foods and it's hard to keep track of what is or isn't kitniyos. Why aren't potatoes kitniyos? You can make practically anything using potato flour.
Anyway I need to make a shopping list. I am so overwhelmed Sad This is my 2nd year making pesach and last year was lockdown so I got help with the food.

I think this is very common!

This happened to my SIL's family as well! Her mom made them. Rav said don't eat them on pesach and don't use that pot anymore - but they could eat them after pesach.

It's weird that they are kitniyos, but apparently they are.

ds asked me why flour is chometz since it comes from wheat that grows in the ground just like fruits and vegetables!

Technically, you can have flour that isn't chametz (that's what matza is made of, after all) but we're just usually too afraid to use it on Pesach.(Those who bake matza on yom tov obviously do.)

The Chayyei Adam, who was the dominant posek of Ashkenazi Jews in his lifetime (late 18th-early 19th century) did think that potatoes ought to be considered kitniyos, because they can be made into flour and used for baking. Essentially, the popular response was, if we don't eat potatoes on Pesach we'll starve. So his view lost out.

You forgot the corn dog muffins! But the real clue is that she has Moroccan fish as the very first dish on her menu LOL. Cbg what’s a good Sephardic food for us ashkenazim to try that doesn’t have kitniyos in it? Now I feel the urge to spice things up a little.
