I would NEVER trust a newborn babysitter - she'd have to be way older than that LOL

Which area are you in? What hours are you looking for?
I started looking for a babysitter when I was 6 months pregnant...

Maybe it's worth it to send to a daycare until you can find something cheaper. They all have newborns.

If I was looking right now I would find 2 or 3 other mothers who just had a baby and find someone who is looking for a job. You divide hourly rate by the number of babies.
Find someone who just got married or somebody who just moved to Lakewood...

Do you also read the back of the BP? I don't know about this week there are a lot of ads like that, I know someone who put in such an ad and only got calls from people looking for a baby sitter

You really have to know someone.

Did you try the typical routes like Care.com?

Or post an ad with an incentive. Higher than usual pay etc

Bump. Any other leads? I'm getting desperate. I must have called 20 phone numbers and everyone is full full full....

I gave up on getting anything near my house, I've been calling people in all areas.....

This is only my second child and we just moved so I'm not used to the Lakewood scene yet. I really like it here except for things like this; why can't I find one open spot in an entire town!!
What am I supposed to do, quit my job!?? 😢😢

My sister is going through this too. There aren’t enough babysitters to go around. Sad I feel bad for her and would love to help but there’s no way I could watch her newborn every day like that.
The good news is that slots will open up end of June.

I know some one who found one neighbor to take her baby 2 days a week and another neighbor to take her her baby another 2 days a week. Her Aunt took her baby on Friday in return for picking up her aunts kids from playgroup.

Would this work for you? If you can find such neighbors

For future reference, I think people at this point find babysitters before their kids are born Confused Everyone is otherwise full!

No one charges for $4 hr anymore. Standard is 4.75 to $5. And yes you literally need to look for babysitter when you get a positive preg test in their town. It’s beyond crazy
