We are moving out and the landlord wants to take a video of the apartment with our furniture, etc. so future tenants get an idea of how to use the space. I don’t know why but I feel really uncomfortable with our stuff being recorded and put on the internet. It feels really invasive and honestly having our bedroom recorded feels really not tznius. Are we within our rights to ask that they not make a video or is the landlord entitled to do it even if we don’t want?

It's a normal request but you can say no. Don't people that may be interested in renting the apartment after you come look at your apartment?

I’ve never heard of such a thing. Did he ask if he can? Or is he telling you?

It’s the new thing to do because people are looking for ways to have less in person showings. If you allow it the trade off will be that less people will physically come!

I don't see the big deal. I always see online apartments listed with pictures of the tenants furniture. You can definitely say no, or exclude your master bedroom, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.

He can ask. Can't hurt to ask, right? And you can say no. You are both well within your rights to both ask and answer.
BUT - check your lease to see what it says re: potential tenants doing a walk-through while you live there.

You’re under no obligation to allow this, and you should refuse. It’s a blatant invasion of your privacy. Your landlord can video the apt. after you move. Or you can offer to allow the recording for a fee. Models get paid to be photographed, and so can you on behalf of your furniture. See how fast your landlord backs off!

It’s a free country so you have a right to say no if it’s not in the lease. But he also has the right to subtract excessive wear and tear from your security deposit, or to charge you for a whole extra months rent when your moving company gets delayed a couple days etc. Maybe it’s worth going the extra mile something that is a normal request even if it’s not strictly obligatory.
Also, how was your landlord during the tenancy? Was he a real stickler, not cutting you any slack? Did he raise the rent to the hilt at every opportunity? If he was a Mench, the right thing to do is to reciprocate and help him out a bit.
