So when she didn't like your ideas, she was put on the spot and had to ask you for something. That can be uncomfortable for some people.

Just bring whatever you think would be nice, and don't overthink it. You're doing your best to be a gracious guest, and I'm sure it's appreciated.

Someone who has everything she needs might really appreciate a contribution to a tzedaka fund. Especially if it feeds people for Pesach!
