I need step by step instructions of how to make compote, please. I have apples, pears and strawberries. Could anybody please help me? Thanks

Peel, core and slice the apples and pears.
Put into a large pot. And cover barely with water.
Add sugar depending on the amount of fruit. 7 lbs is 1 cup let say....
Bring to a boil, then simmer for at least an hour.
Close the flame and add the strawberries while hot. ( that’s how they maintain their color) otherwise they turn grayish,

I literally cut in chunks add water and thats it. Bring it to a boil and let simmer on low for an hour. Most people put a little less water than to cover the fruit. But we like watery so add more. Some add honey/lemon juice/ cinnamon /grape juice. But honestly it doesn't need it.

Peel and quarter apples.
Simmer for about 3-4 hours until nice pink color.
Cool! Even better, eat it semi iced/slushy out of the freezer!

I don't add sugar to apple/pear. Really unnecessary because it comes out so sweet. I just peel and cut up chunks about 20 apples and 8 pears and add 3/4 C water. Once it starts cooking, cook on low flame and mix every 15 minutes until fruit is falling apart and can easily be mashed. (1 hour) Then I turn off flame and when it cools a bit I mix well with a fork. Yummmm
