I found out recently I am b'H having a boy and want to name for a distant relative, named Simcha. He did not have an english name but my husband feels it is important to have a legal name too that the secular world can pronounce. What english names go well with Simcha? (I dont particularly like when the English name has a closer hebrew name like Sam-Shmuel or Simon-Shimon). Also, what second name goes beautifully with Simcha? I want to give him two names. (EDIT- More yeshivish names, not Israeli!!!) TIA!

I love that name. It's my brother's name.
For his legal name my parents just used his second Hebrew name.

Are you looking for a Hebrew middle name?

Simcha Meir - literally means "a happiness that illuminates". Also Meir has the same root as Orah and reminds me of "layehudim hayta orah vesimcha..."

I know someone Meir Simcha who died young of a heart attack, cv’s the name has something to do with it but I don’t want to put those two names together for that reason, but I also thought of Meir as the middle name, they’re beautiful together

Don’t do Sidney. It is only an old man name or a cool girl name.

English name can be Sam

Simcha sounds better to my ears as a second name in any combination I thought of. But plain simcha is very nice name by itself. B sha'a Tova!

Simcha Dov is cute.

All the names I adore don't really flow after Simcha.
