Yea, is it because you were playing that game where you need a first name of boy and girl with the alphabet the other person chose? Or because you are curious? Or looking to name a child? Anyway Rebetzin ZZZ probably has lotsa suggestions!

I'm pregnant and a relative just died with a very old fashioned name that starts with a Z. If we have a girl, I may want to do a Z name in reference to her, but not the exact name. But so far I haven't liked a most names suggested...the couple I did like were already used by family members.

Zehava or zippy (which is usually spelt with a T) are the only names with a z that I'd personally use, but that's just my preference. Maybe Tzivia if I had to. But again it's usually spelt with a T to make the tzadi sound.

Maybe I should go with meaning instead of first letter. Zelda. I'm seeing both "happiness" and "woman warrior" when I look on google.

Was your relative called zelda? You could name a boy or girl simcha, for happiness. Or you can name a girl nechama which means comfort. Often named after someone who's lost a loved one.

I think Zelda being woman warrior on Google is because there used to be a video game Zelda and was a woman warrior. Nothing to do with meaning of the name. LOL

Yes, I think this is true. It was very popular back in the day.

BTW, the name Zelda isn't only a Yiddish one. F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife was named Zelda, and absolutely no Jewish connection there. I think one of Robin Williams' daughters has the name too (named after Fitzgerald) as a literary sort of namesake, not the videogame....

How about Aliza - you get the z sound (in the middle), and the meaning of the name, if you say it means happiness.
