I returned books to the Kensington Library today, and put them in a huge cart in the hall, that seemed to me their book drop, just as I walked through the glass doors, and theyre showing as still out.
Did I goof and the huge plastic cart in the hall wasnt for returning books? It was full of books.

It could just be they haven't been processed yet. I would call the library to confirm that you put the books in the right place.

Ocean county library in nj quarantines their books for a week before returning them into the system.
Possibly same setup.

Ahhh. Makes sense. Thanks! I thought maybe that huge pile of books I dropped mine into, wasnt for returns.

For the future there is a book slot outside the building, a couple of yards to the right of the door (silver mail slot in the brick wall).
But your books will probably show as returned in a few days

That library quarantines the books and has a notice that it takes a few days to show up on your account as returned.

There's a note on top of the cart clearly stating that all returns are quarantined for a week. The items should go off your card next week
