I'm trying to plan a vacation for our family (kids are teens) in the summer. No judgement on traveling, please.
I'm looking at Watkins Glen, and maybe going as far as Rochester.
Any advice on where to stay (prefer condo-type rental) and what to do there, or good places to stop on the way there/back? Once we're there, we'd be happy to drive to Ithaca, Corning, etc.

Years ago we stayed in Rochester and did the American side of Niagara Falls as a day trip. I think it was like an hour drive.

We had a wonderful vacation- left visiting day, went to Watkins Glen (gorgeous), Corning museum (fascinating and automatic two day ticket) Saw Chihuly glass, and work by Gianni Toso. We rode in an old wooden carousel in Binghamton, picked blueberries, and bought penny candy in Wellsboro. I hope you have a wonderful, safe trip!

Letchworth state park isn’t right by Watkins glen but we did it in one trip. It’s really gorgeous.
